A robust collaboration between academia and industry is crucial for fostering innovation, promoting economic growth, and addressing societal challenges. Tribhuvan University, as Nepal's leading academic institution, plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the academic world and the practical demands of industry. Establishing an Academia-Industry Dialogue Program (AIDP) between Tribhuvan University [CERID] and research organizations would be a significant step towards strengthening this collaboration and unlocking its immense potential.
The academia industry dialogue program was organized in-person mode. A one-day dialogue program was in association with UGC Nepal conducted at CERID training hall on 13th May 2024. Presentation, experience sharing, and presentation, question and answer, discussion were the methods of the dialogue program. A participatory and meaningful discussion and interaction have been made during AIDP.
Prof. Dr. Surendra Giri, Executive Director, CERID, chaired the inauguration session. Prof. Dr. Khadga KC delivered his speech as chief guest. He stated that such type of activities will enhance the capacity of both university and research organizations. He further remarked, 'this kind of dialogue program not only enhance capacity of institutions but also reduce the chances of duplication, waste the resources, that could be utilize for societal benefits'.
